Anyone who says the era of the CD Player is a thing of the past has probably not taken into account the vast collections of music owned in this format by millions upon millions of people! YBA will continue to produce players of the highest quality and the Heritage CD100 is indicative of the company’s dedication. This provides for a tastefully minimalist CD player design where the only features on the front panel apart from the drawer mechanism and signature YBA display window are the control switches, including one to increase the sampling rate. Having both analog and balanced outputs together with digital input and output capabilities, the CD100 is a CD player for today. The DAC of choice for this player is the Wolfson WM8740, chosen specifically for its good reproduction performance with wide dynamic range and low distortion. There is no doubt that the YBA Heritage player delivers superior CD performance… so superior that it’s easily the sonic equal of players costing many times its exceptionally competitive price.
This newest product in the Genesis range was released in the beginning of 2015. Styled in a manner similar to the popular Passion series, this player uses a top loading Sanyo HD850 CD transport and incorporates the patented Blue Diode design. With RCA and balanced outputs this player also features a coaxial digital output. Incorporated into the design is a digital off switch which when used switches off all signal to the digital section allowing this to be a pure analog player.
The Passion 430 CD Player was added to the range in November 2013, filling the need for those users who wanted to own a Passion CD player but did not have a requirement for a CD transport. Modelled on the transport, it has a Cirrus Logic DAC on board. It maintains the same switching array on the front panel as the CDT450 but the rear panel presents an entirely different range of options. With a choice of RCA or Balanced analog outputs, the CD 430 also has a Coaxial output which has its own dedicated on/off switch for use as required.
There Is no doubting the fact that the Signature CD Player delivers superior CD performance.
